Q.There is a brown substance at the bottom of the can. What is it?

A. This substance is the result of the Maillard reaction, which occurs between sugars and amino acids during the high-temperature, high-pressure sterilization process. The Maillard reaction is a common phenomenon in human food as well. For example, the browning that occurs when meat is grilled is also caused by the Maillard reaction. This reaction plays an important role in developing appealing color and flavor. Therefore, the Maillard reaction byproducts may enhance palatability, and the product can be fed with confidence.

Q.There are greenish or bluish substances in the contents. What are they?

A. The green, bluish, white, beige, or iridescent substances visible in the wet food (the appearance may vary depending on lighting and environment) are gelatin or fat derived from animal protein ingredients. This phenomenon is commonly observed in foods such as boiled meat or pork trotters, where fat or gelatin is present. During the grinding, mixing, and sterilization processes of wet food production, physical impact and heat treatment may cause some proteins and fats to take on this appearance. As this product contains a high proportion of fresh meat ingredients, this is a natural occurrence, and the product can be fed with confidence.
